After 30 years of impactful service, Crossroads’ Board of Directors voted to appoint Michelle Wilcox President and CEO at their June Board meeting earlier this week. Michelle has been serving as President and Interim CEO since February and also oversees the day-to-day operations of the state’s leading provider of housing and services for people experiencing homelessness.
“Homelessness is an issue that I have dedicated my life to, so being selected to lead Crossroads is an incredible honor,” said President & CEO Michelle Wilcox. “I am humbled by the Board’s trust in me and am fully committed to upholding Crossroads’ legacy of excellence and service in our community, particularly now when the need has never been greater. I look forward to continuing to work alongside state and local leaders, our donors and funders and Crossroads’ talented team of professionals as we strive to tackle one of society’s biggest challenges.”
As president, Michelle has long been responsible for Crossroads’ internal operations, programs and physical assets, including five adult and family shelters, 375 permanent supportive apartments and new housing development. She has also led a number of high-profile initiatives, including the renovation of the agency’s Providence headquarters and construction of Kingstown Crossings, a 104-apartment development in North Kingstown for individuals and families.
With three decades of experience in homeless services and permanent supportive housing development, Michelle is poised to lead our organization into an exciting new chapter.
